Last weekend, this year’s second international Libralex Conference took place in Berlin, Germany, hosted by our German Libralex member law firm Büsing Müffelmann & Theye and was attended by participants from almost 30 countries.

The conference program on Friday was defined by presentations and lectures by representatives and members of our international network of law firms from Germany, Sweden, the UK, Poland, Turkey, Israel, the USA, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Argentina as well as by selected and highly esteemed guest speakers on a wide range of topics with international relevance and references. We had lively exchanges and discussions, for example on the EU Data Act and data economy, data protection developments in various European countries, liability and copyright infringements in connection with the training and use of AI, nearshoring using the example of certain industries, art in connection with the transfer of values to the next generation, cross-border contracts and questions on the choice of law, as well as green washing in relation to EU supply chain compliance. Exclusive insights into the processes and procedures of EU legislation using the example of the Digital Decade have also been reflected.

As part of the strategy meeting on the second day of the conference, news, current and future projects and plans relating to our Libralex working groups were discussed, as well as issues relating to the further expansion of the scope of legal services we offer and our successful geographical expansion. We officially welcomed representatives of two new law firms as members of our network, namely: Ulises Cabrera, Dominican Republic, and OJAM BULLRICH FLANZBAUM, Argentina. The conference days were framed by a varied program that offered many more opportunities for professional and personal exchange.

We sincerely thank our German Libralex member law firm Büsing Müffelmann & Theye, the host of this year’s Libralex summer meeting, for organizing a fantastic conference with a multi-faceted program. We would also like to thank all speakers, panelists and participants for their valuable contributions and most interesting starting points for extensive discussions. And many thanks to all those who followed this Libralex conference on LinkedIn as well.

We are very much looking forward to the next international Libralex conference and to meeting again in October in Budapest, Hungary.
